Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Andrew G — 24 Apr 2010
Once Upon A Time in America is one of those classic crime films. It's incredibly acted, a well told story and a fantastic portrayal of events that could have occured during the American Prohibition.
The film, as good as it is, suffers from one thing, which takes away from an otherwise perfect film: it's ridiculous runtime. At 3 Hours and 40 Minutes, it's a real pain to sit through. I'm not saying it's bad because it's long, but it doesn't help that the film feels incredibly slow.
If the film was shorter, it would be perfect.
