Review of Once Upon a Time in America (1984) by Nicolas M — 27 Jan 2011
Sergio Leone makes another masterpiece which is different from his usual master Westerns. With the great help of Robert De Niro, Leone makes one of the best Gangster films of all-time, only losing with the first 2 Godfathers, Goodfellas and probably a few that I'm forgetting right now.
Although the film is very long (almost 4 hours), it is a pleasure to watch the whole thing, something that doesn't happen with other good films like Lawrence Of Arabia and others (I mean, they're great films but you get to feel a bit lazy to watch it without intermissions).
Definitely one of the best films of the 80s and probably of cinema's history.
