Review of Once Upon a Forest (2013) by Max K — 12 Apr 2010
Once upon a forest is a real treat for people who love the environment, it has memorable characters such as the furlings and their teacher Corneilius voiced brilliantly by Michael Crawford.
The story centers around a wood mouse named abigail, a mole named edgar and a hedgehog named russell who embark on a journey to find a cure for their badger friend michelle (also corneilius' neice) who has been poisoned by the toxic fumes released into the fictional forest of dapplewood.
Along the way they come across a creepy owl, a flock of gospel singing birds with one of them being voiced by broadway legend Ben Vereen. This story has a good heart which a person like me can embrace. Plus the furlings and corneilius are very likeable characters.
In terms of music James Horner did a very good job with the musical score. My recommendation for this film is that if you want to teach your child something about the environment and how important it is to planet earth I suggest you should rent it out at blockbuster anywhere in your area. Overall it is a great movie with a good heart.
