Review of Once Bitten (1985) by Aaron R — 21 May 2011
Once Bitten is what happens when a theatre restaurant pantomime is made into a film, heavily over projected dialogue, illogical situations, lack of any internal logic at all for that fact, cheap sets and bad direction plague the film.
It's only redeeming factor is that of the no-name Jim Carrey - whose overly energetic fits throughout make it more sentimental experience than a comedic one. There are some novel attempts at jokes but the timing, direction and editing are all so slapdash it falls flat on it's unfunny face.
