The ultimate testimonial that films don't need a multi-million dollar budget and star-studded cast to succeed. A beautifully simple story of a man and a woman falling in love the good ol' fashioned way.
The music distances the film from "normal" musicals, which in turn makes the film that bit better. "Falling Slowly" thoroughly deserved the Oscar for Best Original Song. A extraordinary piece of underrated pie.
If not one of the best films of all time, certainly in the Top 3 films of the 21st century. Sheer excellence. 10/10.
