Review of Once (2007) by Joseph B — 04 Dec 2011
Beautiful film about the power of love, music, and the ability the two have to bring people together. The indie feeling this film has only enhances the story and emotion, and the music is fantastic and powerful.
It's a film that feels real and you may find yourself identifying with it and/or the characters, whether it's the down-on-his-luck street performer or the pianist single mother who find common ground in their music.
Seriously, people, take note: this is how a romance SHOULD be done. You will be heartbroken at the end when the two go their separate ways, but ultimately you will feel satisfied. My only real complaint would be regarding the thick Irish in this film; subtitles would have been appreciated at points :P.
