Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Frankie N — 10 Aug 2011
Brando is phenomenal, as usual. There were no flaws in this film, at all. One of the things that really struck a chord for me was the screenplay. It was so natural and I completely forgot that I was watching a movie, which is the goal that every screenwriter or director should have in mind for the audience.
It was such a real story, albeit now a bit hackneyed. However, this masterpiece defines that classic mobster with a heart of gold tale that we see so much now. Easily one of the best movies of all-time.
