Review of On the Waterfront (1954) by Kim B — 31 May 2015
Some great performances and intensity seen throughout whole film. It kept up the suspense throughout and boy were the villains ruthless seriously who throws stones at a priests head and Kill their own? It's a great story and one that tells a part of American history that today is often forgotten- how influential the mob used to be in everyday affairs.
Sometimes you got to make a stand for yourself even if it's risky. That being said sometimes I don't know if it was just me but at times I had trouble hearing/understanding some of the actors-I think Brando mumbles sometimes.
I also didn't care much for the female character while I can empathize with her she was always coming into scenes kind of screeching and being overly dramatic. Also some parts were a little slow. Other than that great film and message about courage and guts in the face of fear and intimidation.
