Review of On The Road (2013) by Nicky M — 26 Dec 2012
Sort of aimless and meandering, much like the youthful protagonist and his friends' lives. The trailers sell it as a tale of a girl and two boys on a road trip, but the truth is she is largely irrelevant and only in part of the movie.
The *actual* movie is an unrequited love story between the two guys, but unfortunately, it's not nearly as interesting as that sounds. It's saved--barely--by the extremely hot Garret Hedlund, giving a great performance as the smoky-voiced bisexual lothario Dean Moriarty, who seduces everyone in the movie with his charm and free-wheeling lifestyle.
At least for a little while, until everyone but Dean grows up.
