Review of On The Road (2013) by Aaron N — 29 Mar 2013
Abysmal. The film adaptation of "On The Road" is entirely too self-consciously pretentious, artsy, and hip to warrant belief - or investment - in the beautiful characters that Kerouac so adeptly described in the novel. The acting seems contrived, the sets stylized, and the interaction between characters unnatural at best.
Fellow Kerouac fans: the crazies and the mad ones that burn, burn like Roman candles...avoid this film at all costs. I'll stick to my yellowed, wine-stained pages that smell of cigarettes and ink.
