Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Peter B — 30 Jul 2010
Some will say this is the best bond in the same way they might say that temple of doom is the best indy.....just to be different. Clearly this is not great, not even just good. Lazenby is a poor bond-moments of goodness but ultimately a bit too smiley and now and then seems smug.
Theres a good couple of quite brutal for the time fist fights. Overall Theres very little action and at the end of the day this is meant to be a bond film - not some lovey dovey chick flick. Ya dont watch bond for 2 hrs of romanceyness.
...This plot has been done much much better in casino royale. Disappointing. Good ski chase near the end tho.
