Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Sham K — 01 Jun 2012
I really thought this movie was a big let down. I watched the trailer and thought that a new Bond might be refreshing. I was wrong. I couldn't get over how much George Lazenby changed the tone of the character, Bond.
This move had action, but in clumps and not through out the movie, so there were some boring parts. I did understand the enormity of Bond's possible decision to retire, but it felt wrong to me. Bond getting married, also didn't have the right feel for me either.
I know he always gets the girl, but the way she was killed right after the wedding made getting the girl seem pointless this time. I understand that was part of the plot to keep Bond wanting to get Biofeld a.
K.a #1, but it din't work for me. Over all the movie was OK, but just not as interesting as I thought it would be. I couldn't get over how much they changed Bond & Biofeld from "You Only Live Twice" with the wrong change in actors.
Only recommended if you love Ian Fleming's James Bond Series as a whole. =I.
