Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Daniel B — 16 Jun 2009
I own this and I do like all if this. the best of tyhe 007 movies in its franchise! Finding a great actor like Lazenby as 007 ir James Bond was a fantastic idea. Great action, fantastic locales, and of course the famous nice looking ladies for Bond to choose from.
Telly Savalas is Blofeld and doesd a fantastic job! The acting and superb fight sce4nes are staged perfectly! The beginning is well thought of the middle is real good and what an ending to boot!
You will be blown away when you see an avalanche set off when Blofeld(Savalas) ignites a flare in the air it misses ther mark and hits a side part of the snowed covered mountain and the wind picks up and blows down hill.
This sets off a great hunt for 007 and his soon to be wife, or wiuld be wife? Anyway, a great clash of 2 characters pitting against each other.
Lazenby does what Moore tried to do in his first outing but almost flopped. The above all recoomendation here is very high from me and it deserves it. A really well dorected film by peter Hunt and the theme song is well remembered.
Louis Armstrong s a singer who does a good job addinga song in this film. "All The Time In The World" Great addition to a great lookming film.
Thde bad guys play well to Bond's top billing from Lazenby. Headed by Savalas himself. Great all around and a fine movie it is.I like this film and I do own it on VHS. Justice is well served. A second look is worth all of this and if you miss any you will be lost, but sticking to it will be a pleasure to do so.
The skiing parts are well done. I was glued to my seat watching this the first time I saw it. A well deserved movie all around.
