Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) by Galaxy Quest P — 14 Sep 2012
One of the most ridiculous starting's to a film I have seen. Bond saves a strange girl and is then jumped by two men who proceed into the most unrealistic and Hollywood looking fights with fake sound effects and all.
The story is a little bit too silly to truly enjoy, brainwashed girls used to gain a pardon. The sound effects were over the top and really ruined the action that was sadly not that good to begin with.
The ski and bobsled chasing were a step down from the usual chase scenes in the Bond series. The ending was really the only saving grace as it was really unexpected and the death of his wife really set the stage for a sad ending and a set-up for a possible good next sequel.
