Review of On Golden Pond (1981) by Bill C — 10 Jun 2007
After almost 50 years of action, Henry Fonda in his very last role, finally got his well deserved Oscar in this touching tale about family. Fonda plays Norman Thayer, a moody disagreeing retired English Professor, who goes away to his Summer House in Maine, with his wife (Oscar winning role by Katherine Hepburn), are visited by there daughter, who they have a straned relationship with (played very well by Henry's real life daughter, Jane Fonda, who some of you will know from Monster in Law), and she siffers from a minor case of dementia!.
Norman however forges an unliekly bond with her son (played by Doug McKeon). This is just a wonderful famioly store, with wonderful actors, and it works all the way!
