Review of On Golden Pond (1981) by James R — 02 Jul 2007
Small, stagy, ensemble drama with brilliant performances by all. Katharine Hepburn makes you laugh and cry. Henry Fonda proved why he was long-overdue for his Oscar, and Jane Fonda proves that even with a smaller role you can still hold your own with seasoned veterans.
Doug McKeon as Billy has never really been given enough credit. Beautiful score and beautiful setting. And it doesn't matter that I've seen this movie probably over a hundred times -- I still cry at the same parts.
If you haven't seen this movie -- it's on FLIX all the time. Get cultured and watch it...you'll also come away with lines that you'll fit into you're every day life. "It's me you old poop!".
