Review of On Golden Pond (1981) by Seth G — 16 Mar 2008
This film manages to be touching without being bathetic and dramatic without sacrificing humor. Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn are utterly believable as a long-married elderly couple, but the relationship between real life father-daughter team Henry and Jane Fonda feels, ironically enough, contrived and underdeveloped.
Otherwise, though, a great film all around.
