Review of Om Shanti Om (2007) by Kl C — 12 Aug 2008
*I watched it twice and I still want to give it five stars... It's the best Bollywood movie I have ever seen!*.
When I first read about the story I found it was very unrealistic and hard to believe myself would 100 per cent enjoy it. However, when I was in the theater- this is the second time for me to watch a Bollywood production in a theater- I found the story was well-presented because the arrangement of songs and dances made it went so smooth and so dreamy, as well as the story itself has justified the dances and songs in the movie, unlike SRK's previous love stories, haha. The scene of the award presentation ceremony was definitely a star fest: top stars like Bachchan and his son, Roshan, and lots of top actresses appeared. I was touched by how Bollywood stars themselves were so supportive to one single production. I don't think it would happen in a HK production as these artistes may "violate" their own agent's rules to be in something produced by another company! Overall, for "Om Shanti Om", I was 101 per cent into it!
I love the story for not making Om and Shanti to meet AGAIN, otherwise it would be too perfect. The part for the ghost of Shanti came into the hall (the set) was a surprise because she unveiled how cruel Mike was.
Unfortunately my favourite actor Arjun Rampal was a villain and there were not much scenes played by him. He's cool, anyway.
I love the movie, the songs, the dances, of coz the cast and even the credits! Deepika Padukone is another Indian beauty but what made her different was her very young and very sweet face (with dimples!) She'll be another super super star!
I love this movie. It's the highlight of the year!
