Review of Om Shanti Om (2007) by Sid H — 14 Sep 2008
Big film. Big budget. Weak screenplay. The huge number with all the Bollywood hotshots was fun, though. I liked the foreshadowing, but the dialogue and story was a bit weak. Farah Khan tends to write for a select audience.
Her humor is too sophisticated for the uneducated masses, but too simple for the globalized desi, so it tends to be for the few in the middle who can catch the jokes and still laugh. Some numbers are borderline soft male porn, featuring the aging SRK.
Oh yeah, SRK is TOO OLD to be anyone's young son and showing off his abs! But Deepika Padukone... woo hoo, yaar! Anyway, good timepass film.
