Review of Om Shanti Om (2007) by Amit D — 16 Dec 2008
A well-made family flick. As always SRK steals the show but is a little irritating in the second half. Deepika is just fine after all the hype. I can actually proclaim that she doesn't know even a bit of acting.
Shreyas Talpade is good and so is Kirron Kher. Arjun Rampal is awesome. SRK is good in that Southern spoof scene. The music is very nice, especially the track with 30 odd stars come together (Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Amrita Arora look fabulous and watching Saif, Salman and Sanjay Dutt dancing with SRK in the same frame is really cool!).
The story falters a lot but the visuals make up for it. The special appearances by Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are awesome! Akshay Kumar probably has the most hilarious moment of the film to himself! Direction is quite good too.
The way the end credits come up are nice. The movie could have been a little shorter but at the end it still manages to entertain you.
