Review of Om Shanti Om (2007) by Nelly A — 26 May 2008
Staying in India for weeks you better get used to watching a few Hindi films, Om Shanti Om was one of them. Although I had lost hope in Hindi/Bollywood movies because quite frankly they're full of shit these days (Race is good example but I'll get into that later) but after watching this and other few (Black & White, Chak de India) I'm glad to see there are Indian directors out there trying to make different movies rather than staying with the same old boy finds girl..... things happen.... sing and dance.....then apparently live happily ever after. That formula has been going for decades now and still going. It's that formula that I've come to hate and eventually Hindi films. But I may have been wrong to disregard them all, so I'm glad I got to watch this film.
SRK is great as usual as well as Deepika Padukone. The story is quite good and other supporting cast members are all first-class.
I enjoyed the film, it's got a great soundtrack, great cast and great story and definitely a good movie to watch if you wanna get back into Hindi films.
