Review of Om Shanti Om (2007) by S.banumathi T — 27 Jun 2008
The moment I saw the scene with Rishi Kapoor in it (they actually pulled a clip from one of his films back in the day), I knew I was in for a treat. I loved that first scene; it was so cute. SRK did a great job and Farah Khan did a beautiful job of bringing the 70s/80s Bollywood back to life.
I loved that they made fun of being "filmi" especially that first scene with Kiron and SRK (they even threw in the melodramatic soundtrack of old hindi movies). The soundtrack is lovely. More and more new Bollywood movies have soundtracks that have this hiphop twist to it, and while that's nice, I sorta miss those old school title songs or "filmi" type songs.
This soundtrack for the most part was very classic bollywood. It was a nice movie... you've got to see it if you love Bollywood. I five-star love it, but the ending was... well, watch it and see.
