Review of Olympus Has Fallen (2013) by Mark L — 13 Mar 2014
The easiest way I could describe Olympus Has Fallen is to basically say it is like a modern day Die Hard. This is a very good thing in my book. It pitches Gerard Butler as the president's aide who has to take on an entire army that has taken over the White House.
The reason I say it is like Die Hard is because he is at the time an unsuspecting hero. He has to battle his way through the place he knows inside out to try and undo everything that has gone wrong. It is full of action and suspense with Butler doing his best to throw some good insults in there and ramp up the fun.
Morgan Freeman and Aaron Eckheart are the other big hitters in this film and do well in their respective roles, but it is all about Butler. It is directed well and runs at a nice pace not leaving you bored at any point.
The action is up at the top of the scale and it all keeps you gripped throughout. Overall, if you are looking for a good action film to get you pumped up then this is definitely the right way to go.
