Review of Oliver Twist (2005) by Rob L — 08 Nov 2007
Depressing in a perfect, Dickensian way, but with enough humor and drama shining through to make it enjoyable. Particularly the cinematography of dark, ominous Victorian London is ravishing. Director Roman Polanski relishes in mud, shadows and faded grandeur.
The story is riveting and will keep you glued to your seat until the end.
