Review of Oliver & Company (1988) by Charlotte G — 27 Mar 2011
Oliver & Company would probably fail to make Charles Dickens or Walt Disney proud. The animation looks too flat even for a cartoon, and the script, despite its dozen writer and framers, can't pull itself out of cliche.
But who am I kidding? This movie succeeds at its aim: cute kitties. Aside from that, Cheech Marin's chihuahua is funny enough to watch and Billy Joel's "Why Should I Worry" is worth downloading. The rest isn't exciting, but you'll just have to deal with it.
