Review of Oliver! (1968) by Jakki J — 09 Sep 2007
Great movie! I can't believe I didn't see this one sooner. The production, sets and costumes were excellent, aside from the fact that some of the women's hairstyles reflected too much that it was filmed in the sixties.
The casting was perfect, especially for Dodger and Fagin. Oliver was well selected too as he had a face, demeaner and voice of innocence. The song and dance numbers were also very enjoyable and memorable.
The lowest point in the film though was when Nancy sang "He Needs Me". I couldn't get through it so I fast forwarded it. Other than that I would say it's a top notch musical that I am glad to have in my DVD collection.
Annie for boys?
