Ending hit me more emotionally than the original's. Unfortunately, the movie is too literal and straightforward. Any significance it has existing only in the context of the original. Unfortunate, as with so much talent involved, it seemed as though the pieces were in place.

Maybe something much better exists in the 3-hour version, which I hope we'll eventually see released.
