Review of Oldboy (2013) by Hayden H — 21 Feb 2014
If Spike Lee actually had it his way, this would have been better but since major studios like to have it their way this movie doesn't hold up as great as the original. I rather watch the original any day for the rest of my life over this movie.
Yet this was not as bad as everyone says and sure the hammer scene isnt as long as it should be and there are scenes that could be wayyy better and its so rushed and so safe to not offend animal activist and assholes like them that stop the twist nature that made this story so great.
On a good note, at least, like Let Me In, it tries to be original so kudos to the screenwriter. I'd still like to have this out of my mind and remember nothing but the original.
