Review of Oldboy (2013) by Ameen K — 19 May 2015
Oldboy is about a man (Josh Brolin) who is held captive in a room for 20 years. He doesn't know what he has done to deserve this punishment but the real mystery is after 20 years, why was he set free? This movie is amazing. I want to see Josh Brolin doing more of these thrillers. There were a few slow moments but every movie has that. There were a few fight scenes that were filmed in one shot which impressed me. I haven't seen the original "Oldboy" movie, so I didn't know what to expect coming into this movie. The first hour of this movie is perfect so I was skeptical on how the other hour was going to be. This movie is great the whole time. It keeps you one the edge of your seat the whole time. There is a twist that happens at the end that is probably the craziest twist in a movie that I have seen in a long time. You have to watch this movie ASAP. I'm giving Oldboy a full price.
Oldboy: 5/5 stars.
