Review of Oldboy (2003) by Nancy C — 05 May 2013
3/5 --- Almost exhausted thinking about the plot, good unexpected twist I usually would see a mile away but I didnt (lost interest somehow)...this 2 hour film took me twice as long to finish! Pacing was slow even tho there was 'good' violent all throughout, it felt overburdened with inconsequential details...Maybe too much voiceover, not a fan of that technique.
Did enjoy some of the visuals of course, I think out of the trilogy, places after "Lady V" and "Mr. Sympathy", and also slightly behind of "Thirst" too. Yikes! The end of "Oldboy" really put the puzzle pieces together and added an extra 'ummph' to 3/5.
