Review of Oldboy (2003) by Kareem S — 09 Mar 2012
A very good film, I loved it. It really argues that "Revenge is a dish best served cold" no doubt why Tarantino convinced the jury to award this film in Cannes 2004 and why he was fascinated by it.
The film is a little violent and disturbing however it didn't bother me. Liked the two main actors, really great acting by both, great score, not a very powerful epilogue however its a very entertaining film.
The director made obvious effort in the corridor scene which was shot in a one continuous take with no cuts or editing of any sort. Its a very good visual experience over-all in which I'd advice violence-lovers to watch !!!
