Review of Oldboy (2003) by Jack M — 29 Apr 2012
One of those rare films that come along and calmly demonstratives to the rest of us how a dramatic, thrilling mystery film should and can be done. "Oldboy" is a movie that runs the gamut of emotions, and leaves the viewer both exhilarated and horrified, all resulting in a remarkably satisfying experience.
Terrifying, thoughtful, intelligent, with a powerhouse cast, and inspired direction, "Oldboy" ranks as the Hitchcock picture too intense and powerful for Alfred to ever have conceived of. Perfect on every level, you need you see this film.
