Review of Oldboy (2003) by Karrie V — 04 Aug 2012
Oldboy has a dark and scary secret. Unlike other movies with secrets, such as The Village, Oldboy's secret is one we can bare, but only because it works for the film. Besides that, no one should no the secret, only Oh Dae-su's monster.
This is the second film of the trilogy, and I suppose the best. The acting is wondering, the mystery compelling. Oldboy is a very good film that deserves to be recognized as a great foreign film that can work in any atmosphere.
Cannot wait to see Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.
