Review of Oldboy (2003) by Petros T — 20 Nov 2013
Drama, mystery thriller, action adventure, "Oldboy" is a melting pot. A masterful one. Magnificently choreographed action, a particularly inspired storyline, an excellent soundtrack (at times pounding and exciting, at times lyrically european), a combination of dialogue and narration, pathos, agony and ecstasy.
Wonderfully shot, subtly humorous and with a stomach-clenching succession of beautiful and brutal imagery. It's a lyrical film; a moving and original elegy.
