Review of Oldboy (2003) by Julian H — 01 Dec 2013
After seeing the Spike Lee remake of this film I thought it important to go back and rate the original. Chan Wook Park's cult hit still stands as a superb, twisted, bloody, and artistic film that is simply without compare.
After a man is imprisoned for 15 years with no explanation he goes on a quest for vengeance, while failing to realize that he is still the center of another's plot for vengeance against him. This movie is worth seeing even if you're not a fan of Asian films and is undoubtedly one of my favorites of all time.
