Review of Oldboy (2003) by Scott L — 06 Sep 2014
A film with an admittedly interesting story, if unnecessarily graphic in its character's motivation, the film tilts itself into my disdain with its over-the-top acting and shockingly graphic violence, from torture to mutilation to self-mutilation, as well as elements of incest.
It is a truly unpleasant film that I, personally, would most likely have enjoyed more if the director hadn't taken so many liberties with the original work.
