Review of Oldboy (2003) by Bradley G — 25 Aug 2015
Oldboy is a masterfully told and mind-blowing revenge story that holds no punches and does the opposite of glorify vengeance. It a bizarre and audaciously original film with much more power and profundity than the typical revenge-themed movie.
However, don't watch this expecting an action movie. While it does have a few action scenes (most notably the "hallway fight", which is one of the most impressive fight scenes ever put to film), it relies more on character depth and story than action.
