Review of Old School (2003) by Rodney E — 09 Dec 2009
It was ok for what it was but I could easily live with never hearing "you're my boy, blue" ever again..Had I known this was going to lead a parade of a bunch of crappy frat boy comedies, I would have stayed away from this.
Had some good gags and while I would love to throw Will Ferrell in the unfunny jail with a life sentence, he doesn't make me want to punch him here, which isn't saying much. This was when Vince Vaughn was still respectable and a frat comedy was a departure instead of his bread and butter.
How I wish the actor who had chops in Swingers, Return the Paradise and even the Pyscho remake would come back instead of carbon copies of this movie.. Some of this is annoying because it hits a little too close to the frat house and I want nothing to do with frat houses unlike it's the one from Animal House or Revenge of the Nerds.
