Review of Old School (2003) by Tyler S — 11 Dec 2013
When I first saw this when it came out, I really liked it. It was instantly quotable and was one of those movies you had to see or you'd be out in the cold. Luke Wilson comes home from a trip and finds his wife with other men in bed.
He decides to no longer live there and decides to get his own place by a college. His friends decide to throw a revitalization party for him to set the tone for his new life. Snoop Dogg does a performance with the Bishop Magic Don Juan.
He ends up sleeping with a girl who he later finds out is his bosses daughter and she's still in High School. Eventually the dean of the college comes by and says the house is being zone by the university so he has to move out.
They instead decide to create a fraternity to go around it. That's about the extent of the story, there isn't much more too it. The jokes, however, don't really hold up and feel dumb and old now.
It's not as over the top and ridiculous as I remember it being so it feels rather tame now. This move has not aged well and I feel it was out at the right time.
