Review of Old Fashioned (2014) by David J — 05 Mar 2015
My wife and loved this film. It has a compelling story, a good script and decent production values (for a independent film). Roberts is great as the plucky, adventuresome Amber. And Swartzwelder delivers as staid, principled Clay.
It also has a strong moral message that resonates with all people, especially people of faith. This is not your typical faith-based movie, however. It includes some thematic elements that might not be appropriate for grade-school children.
I highly recommend it, however, for high-school students, singles and married couples. I could see parents taking their teens to see it and then dialoguing about it afterward. It has romance and humor, but also conflict.
In short, it's a great story.
