Review of Old Fashioned (2014) by Michelle A — 06 Mar 2015

Just when staying true to real values seems like an impossible idea and so outdated no one would ever believe a story with such ideas, along comes Rik Swartzwelder with Old Fashioned! I loved this movie.

I was swept away in the story and the cinematography. I never felt preached at, and I thought the dialog was witty and well played. The story was much more than living out old fashioned ideas. It portrayed the real struggles we face to uphold values and the struggles faced in coming to terms with our own shortcomings and mistakes of our pasts.

The theme of grace, forgiveness, strength and vulnerability gave me hope and I want to see more of Swatzwelder's movies in the future.
