Review of Old Dogs (2009) by Adam W — 04 Jun 2010
If I had known this was a Disney movie, I might not have watched it. This movie has a lot of funny moments but other than that follows the same format as every other Disney movie. Introduce the characters, they get into some big predicament, they have a series of funny mishaps, a bunch of tugging at your heartstring moments, then a bad decision and the person does something crazy to catch the person and win them back. Then there's a happy ending.
This movie tries very hard to make you cry. It tries over and over. Much the same way you hear the boom chicka wa wa start up in a Porno and u know what's coming, in this movie you hear the tinkling on the piano and know we're coming to another aww moment. I ended up fast forwarding through the sacharine soap opera scenes.
There is a lot to like about this movie though. It's predictable but there's still plenty to laugh at. It's worth a rent.
