Review of Old Dogs (2009) by Facu S — 02 Jul 2010
Did you really expect this movie to be good? Honestly. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it's definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's silly, it's stupid, it's dumb, it juvenile. It's poorly written and poorly directed. There are a couple humorous moments and that's about it.
The biggest shame though is how far John Travolta and Robin Williams have fallen. Both were very good actors in their own rights with great performances in several different films. You can tell that they're past their prime and it's a shame that they don't get many good roles anymore. Then there's good actors like Matt Dillon and Justin Long who got suckered into doing this movie. And then there's Seth Green, a comedy genius with the creation of "Robot Chicken", who is way better than this film. You're wasting your talent, Seth.
But now I'm rambling. Long story short, "Old Dogs" isn't very good. Not the worst movie of all time, not the worst of 2009, but close. I don't recommend it.
