Review of Okja (2017) by K G — 30 Jun 2017
This film is beautiful and extremely moving. At its core is the story of the love between a girl and her animal companion but it manages to make a powerful statement about factory farming and han nature.
Violence abounds on both the evil multinational and the fanatic animal liberation side which just amplifies the true and noble love between The main character and Okja. It will make you think about factory farming and animal experimentation and that will likely leave you reeling for a while, possibly forever.
...powerful story telling. I wouldn't recommend it for young children despite the adorable nature of the animal star.
