Review of Oil City Confidential (2009) by Peter A — 29 Apr 2010
The third of Julian Temple's trilogy about British 70s rock music this cleaves to the formula set by the other two in playing interview clips with the surviving members of the band intercut with 'relevant' clips from other movies.
To be honest it is a technique that is overused and becomes annoying and tiresome. However Wilko Johnson's manic energy dominates the rest of the movie and although he takes over the film you get the feeling that there wouldn't be a story of Dr Feelgood without him.
Still it was an interesting look at one of the best bands of the 70s and if you are an r n b fan it is essential.
