Review of Office Space (1992) by Daniel C — 13 Apr 2011
'Office Space' changed my life. I was working in a call centre, performing pretty badly, not enjoying it at all and attempting to eke out a living on basic pay and commission. It was not a good life. My health and sanity were deteriorating and then I found 'Office Space'. This is a comedy, but when the protagonist becomes a shoulder-shrugging, half-awake non-worrier after a hypnosis mishap - and, better skill, becomes more valued, even promoted, at work than his anxious, worried colleagues - everything about office life jarred into place.
Milton is an extreme example of what I could have become, but I suggest this movie as a tonic to anyone with lower-white-collar blues.
