Review of Office Space (1992) by James M — 03 Aug 2011
Mike Judge doesn't often get to make stuff but when he does it's gold - Office Space may just be perfect from the moment Michael Bolton whiggers in his car, to the neat resolution in the epilogue.
Years before Ricky Gervais picked apart Slough and Scranton, Judge saw the pathos in an America who had moved out of the city into the paradise of the suburbs with it's crappy condos, mediocre restaurants, corporate climbing and a safe family environment.
Great characters, from the ever dependable Aniston to Gary Cole as the uber boss Lundberg to the inspiration behind it all Milton. Essential.
