Review of Office Space (1992) by Justin S — 07 Feb 2012
I finally did it, I finally watched Office Space. I think since 1999 people have told me that it is a movie I had to watch and I've just never gotten around to it, so going into it there was a lot of hype surrounding this movie. I can't really say I thought it was the funniest movie of all time, but it was definitely great and probably the most accurate portrayal of work problems that I've ever seen.
Probably my two favorite things about this movie are the traffic in the beginning (exactly how traffic is, except funnier since I wasn't the one in it) and the main characters neighbor with the Hulk Hogan mustache.
Milton was also awesome although a lot of the time I just felt really bad for him. He's definitely a type of person you encounter in the workplace but gosh...it's painful to watch sometimes. I mean all of this in a good way though, it's a very painful fun thing to watch.
The only real negative I can think of is that it is a little bland. There's a lot of really funny jokes but it also has its moments where nothing is really happening or the jokes are kind of a stretch. It's just the right amount of laughs to make the movie really enjoyable but not enough for me to call it perfect, if that makes sense.
Overall a very funny work place comedy. If you've had a job before you'll probably find something relatable and comical, if you haven't then...go get a job and then watch the movie.
