Review of Office Space (1992) by Wes S — 21 Mar 2012
To say that Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) hates his job would be the understatement of the century, after going to see an occupational hypnotherapist who hypnotizes Peter into a relaxed state but has a heart attack before he can complete the process. Now with Peter walk around in a zen like state, decides that it's time to make some changes in life...starting with screwing over his employers in a money laundering scam that goes sideways.
This is a smart and witty dark comedy that takes a satirical look at the white collar, corporate type office jobs and all the little things that get under people's skin from the copier jamming up to that sleazy guy who is always making sex jokes. Great plot that flows seamlessly and never gets boring, the plot and the dialogue perfectly delivers so many laugh out loud scenes from start to finish, and the timing of the comedy scenes in the film are perfect.
