Review of Of Mice and Men (1992) by Millo T — 29 Jun 2011
Although it doesn't completely reflect the amazing impact that the book of Steinbeck produces on the reader, to catch just a small part of it is great enough to make this movie worth to watch. The first who shocked me to find John Malkovich interpreting Lennie (a very tall, strong and dumb man), mainly because of the physical aspects of the character, and although the movie employs some tricks (as well as Malkovich interpretation) to hide it, it is difficult to overcome this factor.
Some moments of the original novel are changed, as well as Curley´s wife is not as sensual as in the novel. However, it is an interesting story with a good cast, although I strongly recommend to read the book first.
